Hi, I’m Alicia. One of my favorite things in the world is producing great storytelling experiences (whether that’s via designing, animating, writing, or music). I love problem solving, and working together to find creative solutions. My background is in graphic design, coding and interactivity, motion graphics, and advertising.
How I live my life
I try to observe the world through other people’s perspectives, which is often not an easy task. Reminding myself of this everyday gives me the opportunity to be a voice for the underdogs and to continue loving the people I love loving, even if I don’t believe in the same Flying Spaghetti Monster (I’m more of a rigatoni girl anyway). A shift in perspective and a basic level of respect for others makes it much easier to communicate with people with whom I generally disagree.
Things I like
I am part of a trio of nerds that make up the sultry voices of PocketPod: Animal Crossing, a podcast where we talk about Nintendo’s game, Animal Crossing, and digress into random conversation among dear friends.
On Saturday mornings, you can find me with my husband and two kids hosting a Facebook Live with Saturday Morning Fam Jam, where we all get together to cover a song from when we were kids (90s and early 2000s). We then edit the live videos into YouTube episodes that feature behind-the-scenes, secondary camera angles, and subtitles for the kids. The kids can’t really play anything yet, but it’s our hope that we spark musical interest at an early age and document their progress. At the very least, we have fun spending time together and sharing it with our friends and family.
Beekeeping! I have been a backyard beekeeper since 2014. In 2015, I won Grand Champion at the Montgomery County Fair for my frame of honey. Every other year or so, my bees produce enough honey for me to harvest and share with friends (super perk of my friendship!).
Things I don’t like
I also don’t like things. I don’t want you to think I’m always this sunny. I have serious problems with incorrect grammar use. I don’t like other things to, but I’ll spare you the details, sense that’s a whole nother story and could of went real differently. Your welcome.
